SOFIC 2022 to Showcase Blighter’s Tactical Radar

Blighter Surveillance Systems (‘Blighter’, www.blighter.com), the British designer and manufacturer of electronic-scanning radars and surveillance solutions will be displaying its cutting-edge radar platforms at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC 2022) in Tampa, FL, USA.

Blighter’s equipment will be showcased on the stand of the company’s US sales partner, JGW Group (JGW: www.jgwgroup.com).  SOFIC 2022 is taking place from 16th – 19th May at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa Bay, Florida, and Blighter’s equipment will be available to view on JGW’s stand, no. 539.

Featured on JGW’s SOFIC 2022 stand will be Blighter’s man-portable B202 Mk 2 e-scan ground surveillance radar (GSR).  The B202 Mk 2 offers a rapidly portable solution, comprised of a backpack and tripod for agile and flexible deployment, ideally suited for installation in remote areas with poor transport infrastructure.  The B202 Mk 2 can be used as a stand-alone system, or as part of the Blighter Explorer system, which features an integrated camera, laptop and monitor for more advanced target detection and recognition.

Last year the Cambridgeshire-based manufacturer was selected to provide advanced integrated B400 series target acquisition radars for a fleet of Armoured Fighting Vehicles, demonstrating the company’s agility in providing the versatile systems required for such a demanding and mobile role.  Most recently, Blighter won a contract to provide its B400 series GSRs in a vehicle-mounted configuration, fitted to an Unmanned Ground Vehicle for a NATO customer.

James Long, COO of Blighter Surveillance Systems said:

“We are excited to be attending SOFIC 2022, and to showcase our rapidly-deployable B202 Mk 2 to our US industry colleagues.  The presence of our best-in-class tactical radar solutions in Florida demonstrates our commitment to the region and to continuing our constructive relationships with customers and industry in the US.”
