Defence Services Asia to Showcase Blighter’s Radar Solutions

Blighter Surveillance Systems (‘Blighter’, www.blighter.com), the British designer and manufacturer of electronic-scanning radars and surveillance solutions will be displaying its cutting-edge radar platforms at the 17th Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2022 expo this week. Blighter’s equipment will be showcased on the stand of the company’s local partner, Widad Business Group (‘Widad’, widadbusinessgroup.com).

Defence Services Asia is taking place from 28th – 31st March at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur, and Blighter’s equipment will be available to view on Widad’s stand, no. 6070.

Featured on Widad’s stand will be Blighter’s A400 series Air Security Radar (ASR) and man-portable B202 Mk 2 radar. The A400 is a medium-range ASR which detects and reports covert air targets such as micro, mini or standard drone types as well as ground and coastline targets, with a detection range of up to 20 km. The A400 has unsurpassed clutter suppression for near-horizon, urban and coastline operation, with Digital Drone Detection (D³) technology and advanced PESA e-scan and FMCW technology for ultra-high reliability.

The B202 Mk 2 offers a man-portable solution, comprised of a backpack and tripod for rapid and flexible deployment, ideally suited for installation in remote areas with poor transport infrastructure. The B202 Mk 2 can be used as a stand-alone system, or as part of the Blighter Explorer System, which features an integrated camera, laptop and monitor for more advanced detection.

Last year the Cambridgeshire-based manufacturer was selected to provide advanced integrated B400 series target acquisition radars for a fleet of Armoured Fighting Vehicles, demonstrating the company’s agility in providing the versatile systems required for such a demanding and mobile role. Most recently, Blighter won a contract to provide surveillance for offshore and onshore oil facilities in West Africa.

Angus Hone, CEO of Blighter Surveillance Systems said:

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to display our equipment on local partner Widad’s stand at Defence Services Asia this year. The presence of our technology in Kuala Lumpur represents our commitment to the region and to engaging further with customers and industry in Asia.”
