Meet the Team

I have been working in the radar industry since 1985, initially as a designer of high performance signal processing solutions for naval radar systems and later as a system designer and development manager. Since joining Plextek in 2000, I have been involved in various radar development projects including the specification, design and development of Plextek's own Blighter radar, a unique electronic-scanning FMCW Doppler ground surveillance radar.

My experience in the radar industry allows me to provide customers for our Blighter surveillance products with advice on the use and specification of radars for ground and water based intruder surveillance systems.

I have been working with radar since 1998. Initially this involved the design and specification of naval command and control (C2) systems, although I also have experience of designing coastal surveillance and VTS systems.  I have also had the chance to work on applying radar tracking technology for airport Surface Movement Radar (SMR) systems.

More recently, I moved into the role of sales manager, selling naval C2 hardware to customers in Europe, South Asia and Asia-Pacific. Since joining Plextek in 2007, I have worked exclusively as part of the Blighter radar sales and marketing team.

My background is in the Army, specialising in explosive ordnance disposal and counter-terrorist search. In addition to operations, I have been involved in the doctrine, policy, equipment and training arenas. I use this experience to help the customer define his requirement across the common lines of development to ensure that we provide a comprehensive and sustainable solution, including the delivery of training, to meet his needs.

I have a background in high tech industries including the semiconductor, medical and industrial markets. Most recently I worked with embedded technology, providing support and advice in the development of new technologies in the military and transport industries. This included involvement in system integration of software, optics and mechanical hardware.

I served with the British Army for a number of years, where my primary role was to ensure safe deployment and continued operation of ground-to-air guided missile systems. My military radar experience and knowledge of emerging technologies allows me to provide advice to customers on the best solutions to fit their project needs.

Having previously worked as a systems engineer and software engineer in various fields, I joined Plextek in 2008 as a Consultant focusing on the defence industry. In that role, I delivered a number of Blighter radar projects to customers, which led to me joining the Blighter group at the beginning of 2012. As well as looking after internal operational aspects of the Blighter business, I now work closely with the sales and customer support team to manage the delivery of Blighter radar systems and support to our customers.

I have been working on Blighter radar software since joining Plextek in 2008. Previously I worked on software for GPS systems and have extensive experience of developing real-time software. I provide support and advice to customers integrating software with the Blighter radar, the BlighterView HMI and BlighterTrack.

I have thirty years experience in the US aerospace and high technology industry, in many disciplines including business development, supply chain management, engineering and contracting. I am able to bring rapid response through the North American location and compatibility to customers that require commercial or military systems.
